Q. Home much does it cost to register?
Q. Can I become a Coach?
- A. YES!!! We are always looking for new coaches. Don't be afraid to step up and change the lives of some kids. You are not allowed to complain about play calling or substitution rotations if you have never coached or won't step up to coach. No experience necessary and the league will help new coaches with tutorials, practice drills and plays.
Q. What are the different divisions?
- A. We have boys and girls divisions and a coed kindergarten division. Girls are permitted to play in any age appropriate boys division. Girls divisions are for girls only. The divisions are as follows:
- Coed: Kindergarten
- Boys: 6/7 years old, 8/9 years old, 10/11 years old, 12/13 years old, High School
- Girls Only: 7/9 years old(6 year old girls welcome in this division), 10/11 years old, 12/14 years old (no 9th graders permitted), High School (all girls in 9th - 12th grade regardless of age will play in the High School division)
Q. When I try to register I receive the following error message similar to: "This program is restricted to participants born on or before a certain date."
- A. Go back to the registration and be sure you selected player registration, which is listed just as the division. You are receiving this message because you either selected "Coach Registration"
or your child/dependent does not meet the age requirement for the division you are registering them for.
Q. I do not live in Parkland, can my child/dependent still play?
- A. Yes. All non-Parkland residents must pay a $100 non-resident sports fee. This is not a league rule but is a City of Parkland Parks and Recreation rule. Our league does not retain any of the $100 fee. We merely pass it along to the City of Parkland.
Q. When does the season start and finish?
- A. The season will start with mandatory player evaluations beginning the week of Aug 20th. The website will be updated as we get closer to August with exact date and time for your division and emails will be sent. The league concludes with our Super Bowls and
Super Bowl Extravaganza the first week of November.
Q. Does my child have to attend evaluations?
- A. Yes, all players (except the Kindergarten division) must be evaluated in order to have a balanced draft. We have limited days to complete all evaluations - we will try to have a make up evaluation for anyone who is out of town only. However, all evaluations must be completed by our draft day. We will post evaluation dates on our website and email all parents.
Q. When is practice?
- A. Generally the first week or two after the draft is for practice. Teams can practice 3 days a week during that time. After that games start and teams will be given the opportunity to have 1 practice a week until the playoffs. During playoffs more practice opportunities will be made available.
Q. When are games played?
- A. For all divisions, except Kindergarten - Games can be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We also play games Saturday mornings and Sunday evening as needed. We try to limit games to 2 a week, but sometimes teams will play 3 games in a week. Kindergarten games are usually Saturday mornings.
Q. Is there blocking or contact in this league?
- A. No. This is a no contact or blocking league. Players cannot bock, screen, or physically prevent another player from moving.
- ONLY Girls HS will have the screening rule in play as according to the FHSAA rule book.
Q. When are games and practices held?
Q. Can my son\daughter be on the same team has his\her friend or can I request a certain coach?
- A. For the Kindergarten division ONLY--YES. The division director will TRY and accommodate such requests. For every other division --NO!!! In a league of this size we simply cannot comply with the number of teammate and/or coach requests that are made and as such none will be honored. Note though that siblings who qualify for the same division are always placed on the same team unless parents request otherwise.
Q. Are uniforms provided?
- A. Yes. Each registered player will receive a jersey and shorts.
Q. Do kids need to use a mouthguard.
- A. Mouth guards are not required, BUT they are highly recommend for safety.
Q. What if I make a mistake registering my child/dependent?
- A. Try and go back or start the registration process over again. If you cannot please email the league the issue and we will fix the mistake.
Q. Is there a sibling discount?
- A. Yes. Each additional sibling receives a $20 discount.
